3/20/2024
"Hear our voices" is the theme of the second edition of the Global Goals Summit, organized by the Association of Social Responsibility in collaboration with DVTV. On March 21, experts in social work in prisons, employment for people with disabilities, sustainability in football, as well as robotics in space industry, will share their insights.
Inspirational figures from business, politics, non-profit, and public sectors will speak at the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics, and Cybernetics at ČVUT in Prague. Visitors will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with innovative approaches, examples of best practices, and experiences of those who are making the world a better place and contributing to the fulfillment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in the Czech Republic.
“This year, we decided to shift from the international to the local stage and give space to those who fulfill the visions of sustainable development but sometimes do not receive much attention in public debate. At the same time, we have selected topics that may not be immediately associated with sustainability, yet the trend is already present globally, and we need to start following it. These include sustainability in football, for example” explained Lucie Mádlová, director and founder of the Association of Social Responsibility, outlining the program composition.
Speakers will include chef Vojtěch Végh, who has embraced the principles of zero waste in his work, assisting chefs worldwide; government commissioner for human rights Klára Šimáčková Laurenčíková; Gabriela Kabátová from the International Prisoner Community, which helps children with parents in prison; founder of the social enterprise Pestrá cestovka Michal Prager; and directors of football clubs AC Sparta Prague and FK Teplice. There are many more speakers, and the organizers will gradually release them in the program.
Tickets are already available on the website, and admission includes a sustainable gift and vegetarian/vegan zero-waste refreshments. The summit will be broadcast live, moderated by DVTV hosts. The broadcast will be accessible to the hearing-impaired through online transcripts. Discounted admission is also available for members of the Association of Social Responsibility.
“Better to light a candle than curse the darkness.”

Carla Hilhorst, Chief R&D Officer of Unilever Nutrition Business Group, came to talk with CEO Rohlik.cz Olin Novák about production, consumption, and food waste. Udeh Chiagozie, a leading Plant-for-the-Planet ambassador, spoke about the importance of planting new trees.
