Sexual violence, Faith, and the Climate Crisis: a Sustainability Summit will open all Taboos
4/22/2026
No polished panels—just open discussion that breaks down conventional ideas about sustainability. The Association of Social Responsibility is symbolically launching ticket sales on Earth Day for the “Sustainability is not Dead” summit. The event, taking place on September 17 at Prague’s MeetFactory, will tackle topics such as sexual violence, climate activism, religion, body positivity, as well as toxic masculinity and natural burial practices. It promises a powerful experience and space for bold voices that are changing the world.
This year’s edition of the Sustainability is not Dead summit will definitely not be a traditional conference. Its goal is to show that sustainability is not just a dull checkbox in a report, but a field shaped by voices unafraid to speak up when the world is falling apart. The program will connect art, sexuality, religion, and politics, aiming to take these topics beyond their usual circles and bring them closer to younger generations.
“This year’s summit builds on the previous ones, but moves from the claim ‘Hear Us’ to a voice that simply cannot be silenced. Sustainability, as we understand it, will not be an abstract strategy but a lived daily experience—from the grave to sex,” says Lucie Mádlová, founder of the Association of Social Responsibility, describing the unconventional concept. “At MeetFactory, we will clearly show that sustainability is definitely not dead.”
Voices that break the silence. Ren Aldridge, a leading figure of the feminist punk movement, will perform
The headline guest of the summit will be British musician Ren Aldridge, frontwoman of the band Petrol Girls, who embodies the uncompromising voice of the feminist punk movement. Her work is known for its strong stance on gender-based violence and social justice.
“I’m excited to take part in this year’s summit alongside so many amazing people. In these urgent times—facing climate catastrophe, wars, genocide, and anti-feminist attacks—it is essential to join forces, amplify our voices, and continue fighting for a better future,” says Ren Aldridge, who will perform at the summit.
Alongside her, the stage will host a gravedigger, a rabbi, a member of parliament, and a scientist
- Kamila Kopřivová (rabbi): Bringing unexpected honesty and humanity into discussions about the body, faith, and stigma.
- Bára Stárek: Director of Díky, že můžem, who transformed it from a student initiative into a nationwide organization educating and mobilizing tens of thousands of young people on democracy, freedom, and human rights.
- Daniel Kortus: Scientist and founder of the Klimatomluva project, who will speak about how to communicate climate science in a way people truly hear in an era of polycrisis.
- Lejla Abbasová: Moderator and founder of the Asante Kenya Foundation, long engaged in women’s rights and global humanitarian issues.
- Zuzana Kašparová & Terézia Ferjančeková (Vyhonit ďábla): Creators of a transmedia feminist project openly addressing sexuality, pleasure, and stereotypes. They teach sex education in schools and created the show Na záchodcích for Czech Television.
- Petr Hanel: Dramaturg, writer, and creator of the project klub_psacu, who explores relationships, masculinity, and the influence of toxic influencers without filters.
- Kateřina Stojanová: Member of Parliament and Vice-Chair of the Czech Pirate Party, focusing on constitutional law and the future of democracy.
- Adam Vokáč: Known as “Hrobníček luční,” an expert in eco-burial, showing that sustainability does not end with our last breath.
In total, up to 40 speakers will appear at the event.
The full-day program—featuring even a drag show—will conclude with the satirical theatre performance Kuchyňské porno, an ironic parody of unrealistic expectations placed on women. The entire event will be fully vegan and will culminate in a grrrls afterparty with a DJ and the roasting of (non)sausages over an open barrel fire right outside MeetFactory.
“I believe people will leave our Sustainability is not Dead summit not only inspired but also slightly pushed out of their comfort zones. And that is exactly why it’s worth being there—and staying until the very end,” adds Lucie Mádlová.
SDG Awards: Winners to be announced as part of the program
The summit will also host the announcement of the SDG Awards winners, the most prestigious sustainability awards in the Czech Republic. The summit program will thus give space to those shaping the future despite populism and short-term interests. Applications for this year’s SDG Awards close on April 22, 2026.
